Joe Kafka












Joe Kafka


Joe Kafka serves as the Press Secretary in the Daugaard Administration and also manages boards and commissions for the Governor. Prior to joining Governor Daugaard’s staff, Joe worked as a journalist for 39 years, including 28 with The Associated Press in Washington, D.C., and Pierre.  He also served as Press Secretary to former Gov. Mike Rounds.

Joe grew up in Luverne, Minnesota. He is a graduate of Brown Institute in Minneapolis.

Joe and his wife, Gina, have two children, Stacy and Joe. His interests include woodworking, fishing, camping, and ocean cruises.
