Showcasing the South Dakota Governor's Mansion
First Lady Linda Daugaard opened the public side of the Governor's Mansion for summer tours in 2011. Since then, the Governor's Mansion hosted over 1,800 people from across the nation for tours.
Mansion tours are held each Wednesday during the months of June, July, and August. Tours are free of charge and a total volunteer effort. Pierre residents volunteer their time to lead groups through the mansion and the Pierre Chamber of Commerce does all ticketing and scheduling.
The Governor's Mansion serves as the private residence for the Governor and First Lady in Pierre, SD. "The Governor's Mansion belongs to the people of South Dakota," said Mrs. Daugaard. "Dennis and I are honored to stay in such a beautiful home, and we want every South Dakotan to enjoy it."
